This morning, Fox59 reported that the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department had been called to the Taco Bell on Indiana Avenue after numerous shots had been fired (Photo Credit: WishTV).
Students, however, likely awoke to an emergency notification around 3:48 this morning warning them about a “dangerous situation” near 10th Street and University Blvd. The notification told students to avoid the area.
Several more notifications lit up students phones throughout the early morning, including that shots were fired around 4:09 a.m. by a person in a red truck near 10th and Indiana Avenue and that an investigation was occurring around 4:52 a.m. as city police continued looking for a person involved off campus.

Some of the windows on the front of the Taco Bell were blown out by stray bullets. According to reports, two vehicles were driving and making shots at each other but only one was found by officers.
A man and a woman near the scene had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and were transported to Eskanazi hospital, but the man died shortly after.
