Tea’s Me Cafe to close location at Tarkington Park

Tea’s Me Community Cafe is closing its location at Tarkington Park after five years.

Owner Tamika Catchings made the announcement on social media on July 23.

“We have been here for five years, which is insane to think about. I thank you for being a part of this journey. It’s never easy to say goodbye,” the WNBA Hall of Famer and former Indiana Fever star said in a video.

Catchings said the company is not shutting down, but will focus on its IU Indianapolis location.

This is the second Tea’s Me location to close in seven months. Tea’s Me first location at 140 E. 22nd St. closed its doors in December. The company said it was due to a “strategic shift in focus” on its kiosk model.

In 2023, Catchings announced that Tea’s Me would be selling bottled teas in grocery stores around Indianapolis.

The Tea’s Me location at Tarkington Park will officially close Aug. 1. They’re hosting a farewell community celebration during business hours.
