Dust off your unfinished manuscript for Indy Reads’ writing workshops

Indy Reads will celebrate National Novel Writing Month by hosting a weekly pay-what-you-can writing workshop. The southside nonprofit bookstore also provides adult literacy classes and workforce training.

The one hour write-in events are part of a national movement for people to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November, or roughly 1,667 words per day.

Attendees can bring current writing projects or use a provided prompt. Community members can submit one-sentence writing prompts for write-in nights by emailing bo*******@*******ds.org.

The write-ins will be held 6-7 p.m. at Indy Reads, 1066 Virginia Ave., on the following dates:

  • Thursday, Nov. 6
  • Thursday, Nov. 13
  • Thursday, Nov. 20

The event is free, but a $10 donation is encouraged.
